Natural Self-Portrait. Pencil. 2019

I have always created at least one drawing throughout every year of high school, for my last year of high school I decided I was going to challenge myself. I love drawing faces and I have not attempted to draw a full-on self-portrait so I decided to challenge myself and draw a big drawing of myself close up with no make-up on. It was hard not to draw things that I deemed ugly so I did not want to draw but in the end, everyone has imperfections that they have to except.

Cup Full. Porcelain Clay with Glaze. 2019 As I made this piece I incorporated my love for leaves and make the cup have a 3-D effect with the leaves. I slashed little lines in the cup to give the cup some texture and a worn type of look to the piece. Instead of making the cup have a plain and common handle, I decided to give the cup a unique handle for it to stand out .

Gray Clouds Trace The Sky. Pencil Drawing. 2018 For this piece, I wanted to try and challenge myself to draw a self-portrait. The picture was taken at Waconda Lake by the shore. I have never been to the lake before my boyfriend decided to take me. We were walking by the side of the lake and he decided to take pictures of me. The drawing signifies stepping out of my comfort zone. I am not an outdoorsy type of person and for me to like being outside is a big accomplishment. The name of my drawing actually has my boyfriends name and middle name in it if you can figure it out!
